CAMP FACILITIES: The Hope Soccer Camp uses the outstanding facilities at Hope College. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Discovery offers 24-hour medical staffing, including pediatric neurologists, as well as the opportunity to learn and share with peers and counselors who also have epilepsy. Camp Discovery is fully equipped to manage frequent seizures, medication administration and monitoring, and disabilities often associated with epilepsy, such as cerebral palsy, autism, and intellectual disability. Because of this uniquely safe and supportive environment, campers are free to discover their own abilities.

The chance to try new things and the interaction with others who live with epilepsy contribute to a truly life-changing experience. Campers come away with newfound confidence, independence, social skills, knowledge of epilepsy, and friendships. Parents benefit from the respite provided by camp and by learning just how much their children can accomplish if given the opportunity.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our philosophy is based around designing inclusive social groups that allow for participants to express themselves and have a say in the experience. Participants will set the schedule, control the route, and are given the freedom to develop their own games and activities while on our programs.

Participants will sleep in tents (excepting sailing programs, where accommodations are typically on the boats themselves). Participants will typically travel daily, learning to prepare their own meals on fires and camp stoves, setting up their own schedules, learning outdoor skills (survival skills, map and compass, etc...), and learning about group dynamics.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Crystalaire has been offering alternative outdoor adventure education experiences for almost a century. Our staff are highly trained, and will have lifeguarding and wilderness medicine certifications as well as prior experience. We believe in creating playful and inclusive trips in wild places that offer meaningful experiences for all participants. We consider each trip to be a "microsociety," and give our participants the chance to weigh in and decide how they want that "microsociety" to function, how they want people to be treated, and how they want group decisions to be made.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: 16 and 17 year old campers are welcome to join us on our Cojourn, a 3-week outdoor leadership intensive that focuses on our group management and social dynamics curriculum. More information can be found online.

18 - 21 year old applicants can join our Apprenticeship program for a 4-6 week intensive training in outdoor leadership. This is a paid internship.

We also offer after school programs, can contribute to classroom curriculum or field trips, or can offer training and certifications throughout the year.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: This co-ed program is for all our basketball hopefuls with a desire to learn the game and improve their individual skills. Athletes will spend the first hour on individual fundamental skill work like shooting, ball handling, passing and defensive footwork in our skill stations. The second hour we will focus on team instruction with 3 on 3 or 4 on 4 play to lock in the skills.

Beginners are welcome but they need a sincere enjoyment for the game and desire to improve. Working at home will be stressed to reinforce lessons taught. Every year talented players attend our camps and challenge each other to the limit, growing in skill and experience. A number of our campers have experienced training trials with professional clubs in Holland. Our programs are designed to help players achieve their maximum potential through progressive exercises that are individually challenging, as well as appropriate to the age and ability of each player.

We fly in our coaches directly from the Netherlands. They are not merely coaches: they are also teachers. Many of our coaches have graduated from a four- year CIOS College. At the Central Institution of Sports, coaches not only received their coaching licenses from the global leader in soccer development: KNVB (Royal Dutch Soccer Federation) but also learn how to work with, encourage and incentivize young athletes. Snow Goal Scoring Camps grants hard-working players the opportunity to learn proper shooting technique. Coach Jake was mentored by college soccers greatest all time scorer his uncle, the late Ken Snow. Coach Jake and his team break down every meaningful aspect of his nearly perfect shooting mechanics so players learn exactly how he is able to achieve an accurate high velocity shot.

Coach Jake offers unique solutions to players having difficulties achieving proper shooting form and provides ways for even the best shooters to improve. Coach Jake's encouraging and patient style of instruction helps players maximize their potential and develop more passion for soccer. With enough practice and instruction, shooting and scoring goals will become 2nd nature.

Camp Format:
4-6 players per goal with 20-25 balls for each group. Players shoot 20-25 shots for each exercise. We repeat each exercise for both feet. Practicing that shot over and over creates muscle memory so finishing the soccer ball becomes 2nd nature to players. We choose 5-6 different Shooting & Scoring scenarios and situations each day, so each player takes 10-12 (both Feet) shooting sets of 20 shots each. Hardworking players should expect to take around 200 shots per day.

Players Don't Get Enough Shooting in Practice:
Shooting practice is most often neglected because coaches are forced to spend the majority of team training sessions working on ball control, possession, and passing. If coaches spent the amount of time required to get good at shooting their teams would be unable to possess the ball well enough to produce good scoring opportunities so SHOOTING PRACTICE IS WHAT GETS LEFT OUT!

CAMP FACILITIES: With four facilities to choose from, we have the right place for your retreat, outdoor education experience, band camp, sports practice camp, family reunion, leadership training…the list goes on! CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Tavor is all about youth-empowerment and teaching our campers how to be the change they want to see! Our Tzevet (staff) are almost all former campers who understand what camp is like, they are bringing their favorite activities and programs to a new generation. Learning while laughing!

At Camp Tavor, our campers learn to be critical but independent thinkers while creating a caring community.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Camp Tavor offers a 7-week CIT program for campers entering grade 12, called Madatz. In the first half of the program, the Madatz participants learn with seasoned camp staff. In the second half of the program, participants are placed in a cabin or tent and are working directly with campers.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Camp Tavor offers two year-long opportunities. We operate a "Ken" which we use as Nest in Ann Arbor, MI, and Chicago, IL, and Columbus, OH. Kids of all ages are invited to experience our programming and have fun whether it's Ice Skating, Soup-er Bowl, or Havdallah game night.

We also have year-long programming for 9th-12th graders called Bonimot Tzedek. This program focuses on social justice education rooted in Judaism. Leadership development, social action, and organizing.

CAMP FACILITIES: Located on 300 acres of woods and fields and along the shores of spring-fed Stewart Lake, we have four cabin groups for our summer campers, miles of trails, a sandy beach for swimming, playing fields for sports, a historic farmhouse with dining hall and kitchen, and a stone pillered pavilion for theater, dances and other camp activities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our co-ed residential camp program, open to youth ages 7-17, combines elements of a traditional summer camp (swimming, sports, campfires, hikes, theater, dance, arts and crafts) with cooperative work projects (construction, organic gardening, trail maintenance and cleaning). CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our Young Adult Leader or YAL program serves campers who are 16 or 17 years old. They work closely with counselors to design a schedule that allows them to assist in various areas of camp like the waterfront, kitchen, or construction site, to get an idea for what type of camp employment they might seek in the future. While still participating in camp activities, they have some added responsibility to help lead programming and provide supervision.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Circle Pines is committed to supporting sustainable agriculture and the slow food movement. Kitchen staff members work hard to provide delicious and nutritious meals from scratch using primarily local and organic ingredients. We source camp food from over 15 local farm families in Southwest Michigan. Meat dishes are prepared using pasture fed and humanely raised animals. Given advance notice, CPC can accommodate most dietary restrictions and allergies, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Ozanam and Camp Stapleton are owned and operated by St. Vincent de Paul, an independent Catholic lay organization, which responds to the needs of the poor of all creeds and ethnic backgrounds. CAMP FACILITIES: Campers work out at one of two Olympic-Caliber facilities. Indoors, they train at the Biermann Center- which boasts the World’s Widest Indoor 200m Track and the same Mondo surface that was used in the 2012 London Olympic Games. Outdoors, they train at the Herrick Track- which features the same Mondo surface that was used in the 2000 Sydney/2004 Athens Olympic Games.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Road Less Traveled as an organization was founded by Jim and Donna Stein in 1991, and has been successfully running safe, exciting, life-changing trips for teens ever since. Both Jim and Donna are still the current directors, and are integrally involved in every single aspect of the company. In the summer, they are on call 24/7, available both to parents as well as to our leaders in the field.

We are an ACA accredited organization with an impeccable track record. We believe in the process of accreditation. It allows us to compare our standards to other professionals in the industry. Our accreditation allows us to follow specific standards related to leader screening including use of application forms, reference checks, personal interviews, work history review, and background checks.

Many years ago, we were the first company serving young adults to require that all leaders have a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) medical certification. WFR training is far more advanced than standard first aid or wilderness first aid. In addition to this certification, we carry extensive first aid kits on all of our programs that include antibiotics and epinephrine. Contents, protocols, and standing orders are reviewed and updated every year by our Medical Director who is an MD.

Since our inception, RLT has been on the cutting edge of technological advances in communication. We began carrying Iridium satellite phones on all of our programs as soon as they were available. Today we continue to carry the latest in emergency communication systems. According to geographic location, programs are equipped with satellite phones, ground-to-air radios, and/or cellular phones providing the possibility of 24-hour access to medical help in case of emergency.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
Trip Leader/Co-Leader

Travel domestically and/or internationally with a group of high-school and/or middle-school students, monitoring and facilitating community service, language/cultural immersion, and/or wilderness adventure trips

Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum of 21 years of age
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree or in the process of completing a degree. Equivalent experience working with teenagers in related field will be considered if not currently enrolled in school
• Experience Previous program leader experience working with and or teaching young people age ranging in age between 12-19. Knowledge of and experience with group dynamics, teaching or facilitating groups, supervision of meal planning, food preparation and cooking, managing logistics. Ability to teach program specific skills, environmental awareness, and related scientific, cultural, and historical knowledge pertaining to the regions through which you will travel and their relationship to each other.
• Strong Physical Condition
• Current CPR for the professional rescuer
• Current Wilderness First Responder, WEMT or EMT certification
• Current Red Cross lifeguard or Swiftwater rescue certifications preferred but not mandatory
• Current unrestricted valid drivers license with no major convictions during the previous three year period; driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reckless driving, hit and run, homicide or assault with a motor vehicle, drag racing, operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent, license suspended or revoked within the previous three year period for accidents and or moving violations. Driving record should reflect no more than three moving violations and/or chargeable accidents during the previous three years

• For Adventure Programs: Knowledge of three or more wilderness travel methods. Whitewater rafting, sea kayaking, international trekking, biking, backpacking, technical rock or ice climbing and mountaineering. Mandatory requirements for adventure trips include: the ability to lead groups of students on backpacking trips of three to eight days, ability to comfortably lead through remote wilderness areas. This includes, but is not limited to, backpacking preparations, backcountry travel, route finding, campsite selection, equipment maintenance, Leave No Trace camping techniques in desert and alpine terrain and proper protocol in dense bear country.

All leaders must possess the ability to make prudent decisions in adverse conditions. International Service Learning and Language Immersion Programs: Leaders and must be highly proficient or fluent in the spoken language of the program country (Spanish, etc.) and have extensive experience with community service, international travel, managing multiple responsibilities abroad, experience and/or living abroad, cultural immersion. Knowledge of the following is helpful but not mandatory: Sea Kayaking, Whitewater Rafting, Trekking, Surfing, and Snorkeling

• International Service learning and Language Exposure Programs: Leaders to have extensive experience with community service, international travel, managing multiple responsibilities abroad, experience and/or living abroad, cultural immersion. Knowledge of the following is helpful but not mandatory: Sea Kayaking, Whitewater Rafting, Trekking, Surfing, Snorkeling

• Service Learning Programs: Leaders to have extensive experience with community service, experience managing multiple responsibilities, construction experience preferred.
